March Craft: Daily hope card stacks (affirmations)
March Topic:
• What surprised you most about your grief?
• Why pet loss grief can feel as intense as losing a person
• Disenfranchised grief (when society minimizes pet loss)
• Different grief timelines (no “right” way)
Helping Hands Humane Society is proud to offer a free and confidential Pet Loss Support Group for our community. We aim to be here for you through all stages of the human–animal bond — from the joy of your Gotcha Day to the pain of saying goodbye.
The group meets the first Tuesday of every month and offers a calm, welcoming space for reflection, connection, and understanding.
Each one-hour session includes light guidance, a simple hands-on activity, and optional group sharing. Sharing is never required, and listening is always welcome. Listening counts as participation! We do ask that everyone have a chance to speak at least once, and advice must be requested before sharing.
There is no statute of limitations on grief. Please come whether your loss was yesterday or fifty years ago. Come if your pet passed away, if they were lost and you never found closure, or if you had to rehome or surrender a pet. Come late if you need to. Leave early if you need to. We’re here, and we aren’t formal.
This is a non-judgmental space — you won’t find blame here, only understanding from people who know the feelings you’re feeling.
The group is open to all ages and designed to support different grief styles, from quiet reflection to sharing memories aloud. Children are welcome.
If you’re unable to attend in person, you are always welcome to join our online community: HHHS Pet Loss Support Group.
