This is a public in-person workshop hosted by Wondrous Tree Fellowship and BMN, and will be held in lieu of BMN’s regular March club meeting. The workshop’s goal is to support equitable access to all TriCities communities to the social and environmental benefits of a healthy urban forest. The workshop will include the following presentations:‘Towards Tree Equity’ – understanding the social and environmental benefits of trees and identifying gaps in tree equity and the need for advocacy in the TriCities (Nancy Furness – PhD Plant Ecophysiology)
‘Right Tree for the Right Place’ – identifying native and some potential non-native tree species with consideration for available space and changing climate (James Bobick – Red Seal Horticulturist)
‘Ensuring Your Tree Thrives’ – do’s and don’ts for planting, establishing and maintaining your urban tree (Derek Churchill – Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist)
