March Mahjong Madness 4-Week Social Play League at Ono Offshore
Ready to take your Mahjong game to the next level? March Mahjong Madness is a four-week social play league designed for players who want consistent weekly play, friendly competition, and a fun, welcoming community.Whether you’re coming off a Mahjong 101 class or you’ve been playing for years, this league offers structured play, rotating tables, prizes, and plenty of opportunities to learn, improve, and connect.
DATES & TIME Thursdays in March: March 5, 12, 19, 26 6:30 PM – 8:45 PM Doors open at 6:00 PM Random table draw at 6:25 PM Walls built at 6:30 PM (Week 1 includes a brief overview of league rules.)LOCATION Ono Offshore 4515 Daly Drive, Suite N, Chantilly, VA (Across the street and not in the same building as Ono Brewing Company)
LEAGUE SIZE & SUPPLIES • Limited to 32 players (8 Mahjong tables) • All Mahjong supplies provided • Players must bring their own 2025 NMJL card If you do not own a 2025 NMJL card, it is your responsibility to obtain one to use during league play. Cyndi has a limited number of 2025 NMJL cards available to loan. Please email [email protected] in advance to request one of the limited loaner cards.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE All experience levels welcome. Beginner players may participate if you have already taken a lesson or can play independently without one-on-one instruction.League play follows NMJL rules using the 2025 card.
HOW LEAGUE PLAY WORKS • 4 games per night (goal of approximately 2 games per hour) • Break after two games • Tables are mixed so you play with different people each week
SCORING & PRIZES We’ll use a points-based scoring system.Each Week: Prize for the biggest winner End of League: • Grand Prize – Complete Mahjong set (tiles, racks, pushers, and bag) • Second Place Overall – Mahjong accessory prize Points accumulate weekly toward overall standings.
FOOD & DRINK Please plan to arrive early to check in, get settled, and open an optional beverage tab.Ono Offshore offers beer, cider, wine, and non-alcoholic options.A light snack will be provided each week. Additional individual “Mahjong Munchies” will be available for purchase.Odd BBQ does not serve food at Ono Offshore. If you’d like BBQ from Odd BBQ, please plan to eat first at Ono Brewing Company (across the street) before or after league play.SUBS If you cannot attend one week, you may send a substitute or contact Cyndi to request someone from the sub list.
COST $85 per person Includes four weeks of organized league play, prizes and giveaways, all supplies (except NMJL card), light weekly snack, and a social, welcoming environment.
REFUND & TRANSFER POLICY All registrations are final and non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend a session, you may send a substitute in your place. For exceptional circumstances, please contact [email protected].
LEAGUE PARTICIPANT MINIMUMA minimum of 20 registered participants is required to run the March Mahjong Madness League. If the minimum is not met, all registered players will be notified by email at least 48 hours prior to the first session and the league will be canceled. All ticket registration fees and Eventbrite processing fees will be fully refunded in the event of cancellation. We look forward to offering the league again in the future.Event Venue & Nearby Stays
