About this Event
In the Northern Hemisphere, the March equinox is called the vernal equinox because it signals the beginning of spring (vernal means fresh or new like the spring). It usually falls on March 19, 20, or 21. A spring equinox on March 21 is rare, according to the Farmer's Almanac.
ORCA's Certified Interpretive Guide will lead a free guided hike through the scenic trails of Baileys Trail System located in the Wayne National Forest. We are meeting at Chauncey-Dover Park Trailhead under the shelter house at 10 a.m. before caravaning to explore more trails in the system. The hike will not be two hours long but a buffer window for gathering and getting started. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned hiker, this event is perfect for anyone looking to connect with nature and meet like-minded individuals. Come prepared with comfortable shoes, water, and a sense of adventure. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the great outdoors, get some fresh air exercise, and make new friends!
