About this Event

Looking for something fun and safe for your child to do, with caring and dedicated staff? Join us at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum for our March Break Day Camps!

Your child will enjoy a variety of themed activities, games, and crafts, led by our dynamic team. Whether indoors or outdoors, we'll explore, learn, and have fun!

Book one or two days, or all five! We look forward to seeing you!

Age range: Children from 7 to 11 years old.

Times: Drop off 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. & Pick up 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.

Cost: $50 per day per child

Amazing Animals: Monday March 14, 2022- Explore our 60-acre site on a nature scavenger hunt, examine replica animal skulls and take home a bee craft!

Wild Winter: Tuesday March 15, 2022- Try snowshoeing, play winter lacrosse, and make snow graffiti! These activities are weather-dependent. In the event of no snow, adapted activities will happen.

Time Travelers: Wednesday March 16, 2022- Watch a Blacksmith at work, make fraktur art, and play historic games in our 1914 village!

Crafty Campers: Thursday March 17, 2022- Create watercolour masterpieces, design Plaster of Paris impressions, and try hand weaving!

Terrific Technology: Friday March 18, 2022- Learn how to read a compass, send messages using semaphore flags, and crack the telegraphic code!


COVID-19 Precautions in Place for Your Visit:

As of January 4, 2022, the enhanced vaccine certificate with official QR code along with identification will be required to access non-essential Region of Waterloo services. This includes those unable to be fully vaccinated because you have an active medical exemption. Vaccine receipts without a QR code, or previous exemption letters will no longer be accepted as valid proof of vaccination. (Acceptable forms of identification must include name and date of birth). Proof of vaccination is not required for those under the age of 12.

This will include all indoor and outdoor events and visits to the Region of Waterloo Museums (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, Schneider Haus National Historic Site, and McDougall Cottage Historic Site).Exemptions apply to patrons with written proof of a medical exemption, written proof of an exemption based on one of the prohibited grounds defined under the Ontario Human Rights Code and those under the age of twelve. This requirement is being put in place to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and to encourage eligible residents who are unvaccinated to obtain a vaccine. All other public health measures (e.g., masking, and physical distancing) continue to apply to patrons accessing Regional services.

  • Physical distancing maintained for all visitors and staff
  • Increased cleaning of common area surfaces
  • Availability of alcohol-based hand sanitizer throughout the museum and site
  • We ask all visitors to wear a face mask while on site to protect our staff and other visitors. Face masks, combined with hand washing and physical distancing can reduce the spread of COVID-19.

As per the Province of Ontario’s document "A Framework for Reopening our Province: Stage 2" it is recommend that heritage institutions like the Region of Waterloo Museums collect contact information for the purposes of contact tracing. This information would only be shared with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in the event that an individual who attended the museum tests positive for Covid-19, on our about the time you attended.
