Required by Law for All*: NYS Boater Safety 1-day Course & Test 2025 (satisfied the NYS Law Requirement)
Ahoy! Join Captain Mary Jo of OnKeuka! Outings, a certified NYS Safe Boating Instructor (c.2016) and 10 years Captain of incident-accident-free transporting of over 10,000 passengers for an informative and engaging day of learning, ending with the NYS written test to join the ranks of Safe Boaters. Its fun!

This 8-hour course is an introduction to the basic principles of safe and responsible boating. Students successfully completing this course earn a safe boating certificate. Must be at least 10 years old the day of class to participate. To help ensure New York’s waterways remain safe and enjoyable, this course teaches basic boating skills and encourages common sense and courtesy to all who share the water. Topics covered include rules of the nautical road, required safety equipment, special boating related activities and many more.
This course with successful passing of the same day test satisfies the NYS Law requirement.
This course with successful passing of the same day test satisfies the rank requirement for First Mate for OnKeuka! Outings.
This course with successful passing of the same day test satisfies the First Step of Captains Credentials with OnKeuka! Outings.
PAYMENT follows once REGISTRATION is completed HERE: Once you register here, a payment link in your HELD SEAT email will be sent. That link expires in 48 hours.

$55 per Adult | $40 students under 18yrs day of class.

Registration is required here via the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historical Preservation.
WHO: * All Motorboat Operators of all ages - Brianna's Law
Under a new law known as Brianna's Law, all motor boat operators regardless of age will need a boating safety certificate beginning in January 1, 2025.
This NYS Parks Safe Boater is an approved courses.
CANCELLATION for FULL REFUND: Should you need to cancel please be sure to do so 5 days in advance of the start time, to allow those on the waitlist to plan to attend.
Helpful Info:
A. All materials for learning and testing provided with paid registration. (coursebook - you keep - may be picked up early if preferred)
You Bring:
1. Valid, unexpired Govt photo ID.
2. Pen, Pencil, Highlighter, glasses; how you best learn.
B. Schedule:
Doors: Classroom Doors 8:30AM
Class start: 8:45AM
AM brief Break: TBD (light snacks provided)
Lunch Break: ~ 1230 - 1:20 (may eat bag lunch in classroom)
PM brief Break:
Pre Test 10 min Break: TBD (light snacks provided)
TEST Start: 4:30PM (50 multichoice)
C. Amenities and Planning:
1. Parking: free lot in front of building. Various adjacent, across street.
2. Men and Women separate restrooms across from Classroom.
3. Bag lunches welcome. Please No eating in classroom during class. Only drinks with secure lids in classroom.
4. Vending & refrigerator onsite.
