This event will take place in the Piedmont room of Clyde's Restaurant. Lunch and beverages will be served prior to the training. The Gallery Place parking garage can be accessed at 736 6th Street NW. See cost section below regarding parking validation. Clyde's is also a five-minute walk from the Gallery Place Chinatown metro station.
Cost: $15 in-person for AGA members, $40 in-person for non-AGA members, $5 for virtual attendees, free for volunteers. SPECIAL PROMOTION: $15 for 1st time in-person non-AGA members.
Parking validation at the Gallery Place parking garage (mentioned above) is at a 50% discount for the first two hours and drops to 25% afer 2 hours. No discount on validation after 4 hours.
Speaker: Mark Reger, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Deputy Controller of the United States (Retired)
Speaker Biography: Mark Reger retired from OMB as the Deputy Controller of the United States in 2018. He had joined the Federal Government 20 years earlier as the CFO of the FCC. He then moved to be Director of Accounting at OPM and was appointed Deputy CFO shortly after and CFO 90 days later. Mark moved to US Treasury four years later as one of two Deputy Fiscal Secretaries and then four years later moved to OMB.
Mark graduated Loyola College in 1977 and accepted an appointment at the Maryland Department of Agriculture to create the audit department. 10 years later he moved to the Maryland State Treasury and was appointed Chief Deputy Treasurer of the State of Maryland. Mark left state government in 1997 and spent a short time as a Deputy Treasurer in DC and Baltimore County Schools. He was then offered two career opportunities with the US government.
Mark served as an elected Director of SECU (formerly Maryland’s State Employees Credit Union) from 1986 until 2023. SECU’s assets rose from $250M to $5.3 billion during his 12 terms as an SECU director and now serves 126 employers with 260,000 members. Mark is a CPA, graduated from Oxford England’s residence programs on International Negotiations, is an honorary Kentucky Colonel, and a Henry Toll fellowship graduate.

CPE Credit: AGA members can receive 1 NASBA CPE credit with confirmed in-person and virtual attendance. Credits will be granted based on a 50-minute hour. CPEs may or may not meet the criteria required by your state CPA governing body for continuing professional education. All attendees should check with their licensing boards on whether these will be accepted for continuing professional education credit.
