Join us for a warm evening showcasing two iconic Detroit Music Award winning singer-songwriters - Audra Kubat & Marbrisa. Both musicians will be sharing songs spanning Audra’s thoughtfully crafted folk sounds, and MarBrisa's soulful blend of world music styles. Kubat is a songwriter, educator and proprietor of the Detroit House of Music, a space for musicians to work and perform. She is a seasoned Michigan storyteller who has performed across many festivals including Bliss Fest, Wheatland and Harvest Fest while sharing the stage with legendary artists like Rodriquez and Jessica Care Moore. Marbrisa has delivered a world tapestry of music for over a decade, studying traditional Cuban music in southern Cuba, jazz in New Orleans and Flamenco in Spain. While being a traveling troubadour, the root of her sound is Detroit soul. She has been hosting a national women's showcase series called ‘Queens of the Song Age’ across New Orleans and Detroit, often in collaboration with Audra’s Detroit House of Music. Together these two artists will collaborate in song and stories.www.marbrisamusic.com
