For this month's History Speaks program, join local cemetery historian Kathy Volkmann as she shares the history of one of the first community mausoleums in Wisconsin, the Pine Grove Mausoleum in Wausau. Who decided to bring this unusual concept to Wausau and how did they make it happen? What does it look like inside?
In addition to being a local cemetery historian, Kathy Volkmann manages part of the Marathon County Historical Society's vast collections as our Curator of Artifacts, as well as a regular contributor in designing our exhibits.
This History Speaks program will be presented live at 2pm, Saturday September 14th, at the Woodson History Center (410 McIndoe Street, Wausau). History Speaks are presented in conjunction with the Marathon County Public Library and are sponsored by Janke Book Store. This is a free program, no RSVP required.
