We want you to audition to be a part of our 2025 41st Anniversary Musicals at Richter Season!๐ช๐๐ข ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ช๐๐๐ง: Musicals at Richter (MAR), Connecticutโs longest-running outdoor theater, will hold open auditions for its 41st season April 10, 12, and 13 at the Ridgefield Theater Barn, 37 Halpin Lane, in Ridgefield, CT.
Main stage musicals include:
EVITA (July 5-19) directed by Donald Birely with music direction by Andrew Gadwah and choreography by Matthew Farina.
DISNEYโS THE LITTLE MERMAID (July 25-August 9) directed by David Halliwell with music direction by Fiona Bryson and choreography by Melissa Arizzi.
Geared toward young audiences, FAIRY TALE THEATER is theater by children for children, featuring hour-long interactive shows, adapted from classic childrenโs tales. Written and directed by MAR veteran Rob Mayette the interactive show are performed by a youth ensemble, ages 8-15. Performances take place on the Richter grounds on four Saturday mornings, from July 12-August 2. The 2025 Fairy Tale season includes โCinderella,โ โHansel and Gretel,โ and โThe Wizard of Oz,โ among other engaging stories.

YOUNG PERFORMERS FOR EVITA and THE LITTLE MERMAID (ages 8-15): Audition sign-ups begin at 9:30AM on April 12. At 10:00 AM, you will be learning the song in groups and then you will individually sing the song. You may be asked to stay to dance and/or read.
>>Those auditioning for FLOUNDER (ages 12-15): Please prepare a Disney song, but not one from THE LITTLE MERMAID. Your selection should be no more than one minute in length, and depending on time, you may be asked to perform only a 32 bar cut.
>>For Fairy Tale Theater Auditions, auditioners will receive a monologue to read and perform. Auditioners will also perform a scene with other actors from provided sides. Roles will be rotated so everyone can try each part. No need to prepare anything - just bring your energy and have fun exploring the material!
>>Although Fairy Tale Theater does not require any solo singing, there may be opportunities to work something musically into the shows, as we have full creative control over the material. If interested, auditionees may sing an audition song.
ADULTS (ages 16 and up) FOR EVITA AND LITTLE MERMAID: Those auditioning for the two main stage shows should prepare one ballad and one uptempo, in the style of the show(s) you are auditioning for that show their range. Bring sheet music, in your key and with audition cuts marked, in a binder for the accompanist. An accompanist will be provided; please, no recorded accompaniment or a cappella singing.
>>You may choose to sing from EVITA, though it is not always recommended, depending on how โspecificallyโ the actor wants to be seen. Singing a selection from a similar style, or based on character type, gives directors/music directors a chance to make an open decision based on a number of available roles to fill.
If you are auditioning for Eva or Che, you may be asked to sing โOh What a Circusโ or โA New Argentina.โ
>>If you are auditioning for THE LITTLE MERMAID, please prepare Disney-style songs, but not songs from THE LITTLE MERMAID itself.
๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฆ:
1. Be prepared to learn short dance combination and read from script if asked.
2. Bring your picture and resume (stapled) if you have them.
3. All those auditioning MUST complete BOTH the online Audition form AND the printable audition form.
4. Please bring one PRINTED COPY of the printable audition form to the Auditions.

5.Please remember to review the 2025 Musicals at Richter Guidelines and the 2025 Actor Contract.
6. The schedule of all potential rehearsal dates will be posted soon to view so that you may accurately list any conflicts. Please click on the link in the Audition section of the website to review the draft schedule and come prepared with a list of specific conflict dates from May 1 through the performance dates.

-Please note that positions are unpaid and housing is not available.

- Callbacks will be scheduled (as needed) on Sunday, April 13 from 3:00PM-5:00PM. Being called back or not being called back does not indicate casting in any way, but may be used as needed to clarify the directorโs thoughts in casting.
