Join us to learn about how the summer 2024 Mapping Freedom NSF-REU cohort utilized mapping technologies to investigate societal transformations during the American Civil War and Reconstruction.
Each program participant will present their research in slideshow format for approximately ten minutes and then will answer questions from the audience for about five minutes.
The symposium is free and open to the public. There will be a reception with light refreshments following the presentations.
Further information about "Mapping Freedom" and the symposium can be located at mappingfreedomreu.org.
Special thank you to our Southern Miss co-hosts for sponsoring this event: The Graduate School, The School of Humanities, University Libraries, The School of Biological, Environmental, & Earth Sciences, and The School of Computer Sciences & Computer Engineering.
