Come celebrate 100 years of Amesbury Maples Hockey!Founded in 1924 by Amesbury’s Deputy Fire Chief, the Amesbury Maples gained a reputation as one of the most successful and longest tenured amateur teams in the northeast, some would argue in the country. While no games were played due to WWII from 1941 to 1947 the team regrouped and played until 1997. They played 73 consecutive seasons. The City of Amesbury invites all barnstorming hockey fans and alumni to celebrate 100 years of Amesbury Maples.
