The Many Versus the Money is an all hands on deck, action-oriented session where we will collaborate and build power to fight back against corporate over-reach and greed. This event is being held as the closing action kick off for the Social Forum in Wolastokuk.
The Many vs. The Money series, originated by the Council of Canadians, refers to a series of grassroots town hall events and online discussions being hosted in Atlantic Canada and across the country. These events aim to empower people ("the many") to organize and advocate for collective well-being, justice, and affordability, pushing back against corporate interests and policies that prioritize profit over community needs and are seen as contributing to crises in healthcare, housing, and climate.
This event is designed to encourage people to connect, share experiences, and build collective power. Panelists, collaborators, and participants will discuss how corporate-driven policies contribute to crises in healthcare, housing affordability, climate change, and worker's rights. Participants will be encouraged to offer their solutions to fighting back against anti-democratic forces, and to develop cross-cutting collaborations, solutions, and tools together.
The workshop agenda will include a panel discussion, facilitated breakout sessions, and a "barnstorming" session where people can initiate or promote calls to action and seek collaborators and volunteers to support their initiatives.
If you or your group wishes to participate, we welcome you!
