Our town, including Mistley and Lawford of course, was the subject of some research by Maria Sherrington from the University of Lancashire earlier this year, as many of you know. Some of you were amongst the people she interviewed during her visit, or met her when she joined in local projects and meetings. Having presented her resulting paper - “Manningtree - a tiny town addressing global sustainability through local action” to an international conference in September, she is now coming to present it to us. This is such well-deserved recognition of all the wonderful actions being taken by this community, and will surely make for a very interesting evening. As if that wasn’t enough, the refreshments for the evening are being provided for us by the Co-op Women’s Guild and will be a bit special.
