Program of the day:
- Meet the group at Manial palace
- Enjoy a guided tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide to discover the secrets of the Palace and its unique beauty
- After the palace tour, enjoy a short coffee break in the garden of the palace.
- End your day with the museum of the Diva of the Arabic song "Umm Kalthum" and the historical Nilometer
Important note:
Kindly note that the walking distance from the palace to the Nilometer and Umm Kulthum Museum is approximately 3 km. You can either take a taxi/Uber or use your own car to get there.
Manial palace:
Manial Palace is a haven for the lovers of the Islamic Art.
The palace was built by Prince Mohamed Ali, cousin of King Faruk and son of Khedive Tewfik at the beginning of the 20th century.
It took the prince more than 30 years to finish all the art details in the palace.
The vision of the prince when he built the palace was: "To revive the Islamic Art & to honor it"
Every inch in the palace was designed with passion by the prince himself.
If you are a lover of the Islamic Art or your dream was to travel the Islamic world to discover different styles of arts… then Manial palace is definitely your place!
Umm Kalthum Museum:
Umm Kalthum is considered an icon for the Arabic song. She is known as "The Voice of Egypt '' and some call her Egypt's 4th pyramid.
Her life story is very inspirational. She changed a lot in the music scene beside her important role as a female singer conquering the field of Arabic music and gaining the respect and love of millions of people in all Arab countries from the east to the west of the Arab world.
On this tour, we will discover more about her life.
The Nilometer:
It was used to measure flood levels. It is one of the oldest monuments that dates to the Islamic period in Egypt.
