EVENT DESCRIPTIONJoin us for an event designed to recruit student-focused candidates to run for their local school board. We understand there are outstanding potential candidates who are interested in improving our schools so our students can be prepared for their careers and college after high school, but just don’t know how to go about that process. These events are designed to recruit those candidates and provide confidence and guidance that will support them in serving.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Dave Trabert, author of 8 Things to Know about Running for School Board, will discuss key points in his new book. The book’s purpose is to provide coaching for potential school board candidates and current board members on how to find the information they need to support student outcome improvement. It will also help them understand and develop persuasive communication skills and management strategies to be leaders for student-focused change.
Members of the Kansas School Board Resource Center team will also be there to answer questions and provide information about how we support school boards through individual coaching and long-term improvement projects.
