This workshop is perfect for both beginners and those who are already familiar with polymer clay.
No prior experience with the medium needed!
The Mandragora, more commonly known as the Mandrake Plant, grows a root that when pulled from the ground can sometimes resemble that of a human figure growing what looks like arms, legs, and even a face! You may have seen this particular plant depicted in fictional books and films where the actual root itself is alive! And that’s the inspiration for this workshop!
During this class, we will create our own versions of this creature using super sculpey polymer clay.
All supplies will be provided! If you’d like to bring your own planter to sculpt your mandrake into, you are welcome to do so but please contact Julia directly beforehand to ensure your planter will be compatible for this particular project.
With that said, planters will be provided during the workshop regardless!
*Your mandrake will require a baking time which will be completed by Julia after the first class has ended. The fun will resume on March 1st, 11:00am - 2:00pm where everyone will then paint, add folige, and ultimately bring your mandrake to life!
It is recommended that you have trimmed nails as they do sometimes get in the way when sculpting but it is not a requirement!
Disclosure: plants included to decorate your mandrake will not be alive!
Please email Julia about any questions or concerns regarding the details of the class. She’s happy to help in any way she can!

ARTIST BIO:
Julia is a self taught artist from right here in Corpus Christi, TX.
Her artistic journey began as soon as she was able to hold a crayon!
For most of her childhood into her teen years, drawing was her main skill but over the years her love for art eventually led her to work with various other mediums such as: Paint, special effects makeup, digital designs, photography & even music. It wasn’t until late 2021 that she tried her hand at clay and instantly something sparked!
Julia now works as a full time sculptor and dreams of one day opening her own public studio.
When Julia is not sculpting, she enjoys playing piano, listening to music, reading, & going to the movies.
