Mandala Sand Painting Exhibition presented by Tibetan Monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery

In this part of the Cultural Series, Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery will construct a Mandala Sand Painting in the Copernicus Room of the New Castle Public Library.

Millions of grains of sand are painstakingly laid into place in this ancient spiritual art form in order to purify and heal the environment and its inhabitants.
This program will begin on Tuesday, May 6. The monks will work on the sand painting throughout the week, and a closing ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 10.
