Let's ride for Pride!Join us on Sunday 28th August 2022 at 10:15 at the shop for a ride to celebrate Manchester’s LGBT+ history with a cycling tour which celebrates some of Manchester’s LGBT+ legends - Alan Turing and Emmeline Pankhurst - as well as sites which braved conventions by hosting early gay, lesbian and bisexual meetings and gatherings and sites where historic decisions were made. (And yes, we’ll be visiting Canal St!)
The tour is suitably inclusive: we welcome all bike types from E-bikes to Bromptons. You’ll need to be confident riding on roads although we will ride on cycle paths wherever possible and always at a leisurely pace.
Arrive by 10.15 and we'll set off at 10.30. The riding time is around an hour at a leisurely pace and we’ll stop to talk about the sights for a further half an hour. We aim to be back at the shop by 12.30 at the latest.
Please wear helmets. You can check out the route here - https://www.komoot.com/tour/318778459 - and post any questions via Trek Manchester's FB.
Tickets are free, but a charity donation through eventbrite will be greatly appreciated , with all proceeds going to the Micro Rainbow charity. All money raised from ticket sales will be matched by a donation from Trek.
Micro Rainbow provide safe housing, employment and social inclusion support for some of the most margianalised and vulnerable people in the LGBT+ community. Find out more about their work on their website. https://microrainbow.org/
