Manchester Pride Festival is a 'party as protest.' We're a part of the largest LGBTQ+ liberation movement in the world, celebrating queer people, culture and expression as loudly and publicly as possible in a refusal to hide in shame. ✨
Pride has grown exponentially in its 50+ year history as a movement for queer liberation. But the fight is far from over. ✨
With LGBTQ+ youth increasingly experiencing bullying, self-harm and homelessness and the recent rise in anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes, it's more vital than ever that Manchester Pride celebrations remain strong. ?
Taking place over the August bank holiday weekend, Friday 23rd - Monday 26th August 2024. The Festival is made up of multiple events including the world famous Manchester Pride Parade, the Gay Village Party, Candlelit Vigil, Youth Pride MCR, Family Pride MCR, Superbia Weekend and the Human Rights Forum. ?
The heart of the Manchester Pride Festival is the Gay Village Party, it's the ultimate street party and celebration of LGBTQ+ life as the sun shines down on our famous cobbled streets. A firm favourite is The Parade, a proud display throughout the streets of Manchester as the LGBTQ+ community march to the cheers of tens of thousands of supporters. ??
