About this Event
Welcome to the first Manawatu Software Test Professionals Meetup of 2026: Tough Times Create Tough Testers β Where it went wrong and how we fixed it.
Hosted by the great team at FMG, our focus this time is on the resilience and problem-solving capabilities of the testing community. Stories of what went wrong (including what was wrong when we started π) and what was done to fix it, so the community can borrow proven remedies and avoid repeat mistakes. Our plan is short fire stories from the community:
- Context & constraints
- What went bad (symptoms, impact)
- Root cause(s) discovered
- The fix (process, tooling, people changes)
- Evidence of improvement (metrics, anecdotes)
- Transferable lesson(s)
Real stories, real fixes, zero blame. Learn the patterns and practices that turned failures into improvements. Maybe even a bit of PTSD release and counselling.

- Event opens at 4:30pm for sign over drinks and nibbles.
- Presentations will be from 5pm to 6pm
