Explore the upland habitats of Manasota Scrub Preserve while looking for and identifying birds!Join us as we look for and identify birds in their natural habitat at Sarasota County's Manasota Scrub Preserve . The Preserve's 179 acres are home to one of the few remaining scattered pockets of scrub habitat, pine flatwoods, and seasonal wetlands in a suburban community. Resident wildlife such as gopher tortoise, Northern Quail, Great-Horned Owl, swallowtail butterflies, and the occasional bobcat can be observed. Native habitat restoration is underway to prepare for the return of the precious Florida Scrub-Jay and to enhance the preserve for other native wildlife.
This program is suitable for all ages. All participants under the age of 16 must attend with a parent or guardian.
