Adults £10 / Under 18s £2 Kitterland will create a live, improvised score to a classic film. The film will be played in silence as a backdrop to the music; the film will be used as a source of inspiration for the group to create their live score.
Kitterland are a three piece music and film collaboration based on the Isle of Man. They create ‘soundscape music and cinema’ using analogue modular synths, loopers, guitars, bass and vocals. The group are made up of Anthony Dalton, filmmaker, director of photography and lighting designer; Tibor Miklos, sound design, modular synths, electronic drums and bass guitar; and Joff Whitten who acts as curator and plays guitars, loops, synths and voice.
The group expect the experience to be somewhere between a trip to the cinema and a sit-down concert. It is likely that the music will have a slow – dreamlike quality, being created live in the moment and totally improvised. The sounds of the synths and loops make the music reminiscent of classic science fiction soundtracks, but can also be described as ambient electronic. The group can also get quite loud, if the mood is right.
