This Masterclass will be particularly useful for families or friends supporting elderly people with mild to moderate dementia who are still living in their own home.
We will discuss important things to consider when helping someone living with dementia remain at home safely. Topics covered:
- Managing shopping, cooking & food safety, spare keys, getting lost when out, managing cold callers to the home, keeping on top of bills, cleaning, repairs and maintenance to the home, keeping appointments, managing Medic*tion routines
- Fire alarms, heating, gas, preventing falls, wandering & trackers, safety in the bathroom & kitchen, safety when someone is alone at night, emergency plans, back up when the carer is sick or is going away.
