About this Event
Join us on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Sumter County Clemson Extension for a learning session on Managing Midlands Soils.
The soil types in the Midlands area of South Carolina vary greatly, with some areas experiencing deep sand that is almost gravel-like at some depths, while others battle heavy acidic clays. This can lead to frustration as homeowners try to create a landscape. Sumter County Horticulture Extension Agent, Dr. Adam Gore, breaks down the science happening within Midlands soil and how to create a soil that supports desireable landscapes.
Bring three (3) cups of soil from your landscape with you to the workshop to help you learn how your soil impacts the desirable plants and what you can do to make it more hospitable.
