Management of Ventilation for Patients in the Community

Course Overview

Building on the knowledge and skills from the Fundamentals of Tracheostomy Care course, this full-day course aims to provide home health care providers with up-to-date knowledge and skills regarding community-based invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support. This course will cover ventilatory support of infants, children and adults, and will address essential care considerations for those who are medically fragile and technology dependent.

This course will involve a combination of didactic, skills stations, scenario-based learning, and multiple-choice examination.

Course Prerequisites

1) RN, RPN, RRT, or GRT

2) Completion of the Fundamentals of Tracheostomy Care course within the past two years

3) completion of pre-course reading

It is mandatory to have the Tracheostomy course before the Ventilation course to build on the knowledge and expertise. Please note that digital or hard copy proof of having the Tracheostomy course taken in the last two years is a requirement to attend this in-person session.
