About this Event
Orygen is committed to an organisation-wide approach to prevent, minimise and therapeutically manage the impact of aggressive or violent incidents that occur through the course of work.
Sessions will focus on the theoretical and practical component of the Management of Clinical Aggression (MOCA)
This training is free and available to all staff.
Registration is essential.
The MOCA approach is designed to protect and support staff, consumers and other stakeholders through a multi-faceted program which recognises the complexity of this issue. The training takes a preventative approach that will include:

• risk reduction and elimination measures
• safety in the clinic
• safety on outreach
• de-escalation
• emergency response to safety risk
• breakaway techniques
• reporting and recording incidents
• staff support services
The training is available to all staff and is particularly important for those with clinical, research and front-of-house roles.
