This is not a beginner’s hike. Please know your ability. Distance 4 miles
Elevation gain 1300ft.
If you're interested in hiking a newly developed trail in the Franklin Mountains, this hike may be for you.
Please be able to move at a constant pace with short breaks. We will take a longer breakfast/snack break at the Mammoth Rock. We may do some ridge hiking here so be prepared.
Arrive early to fill out the envelope if needed for your vehicle if you do not have a printed reservation.
Rating: easy to difficult depending on your ability.
Friendly dogs on a leash welcome
but must be kept on a leash the entire time.
Fee $5 per person. Park fee, or use your Texas Park pass. Go online to https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/franklin-mountains-state-park
You will need to fill out the envelope with $5 dollars or print a pass and post it on your dashboard.
If you have a TX state park pass, then you are also covered.
Meet up at the parking lot off Transmountain at 5:50am or earlier to start at 6:05am sharp.
