About the training

This course aims to assist Australia's cyber security industry to grow and develop its cyber analytical capabilities and skills through a unique and new Malware Analysis course designed by aizoOn and delivered by CyberOps.

The course content developed and practiced from aizoOn’s extensive global expertise is adapted to the Australian market specific characteristics by CyberOps' Co-Founder and Director, Derek Grocke.

This course will be delivered online and in-person at the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre at Lot Fourteen, Adelaide.


What can you expect to achieve from this course?

  • The skills and knowledge that are fundamental to identify and track potential malware intrusions into your organisation to prevent cyber threats.

Course content overview

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction and history of malware
  • Malware analysis methodologies
  • Static analysis
  • Dynamic analysis
  • Virtual malware lab implementation
  • Malware scripts
  • Malware functionality overview
  • Indicators of Compromise

Who should participate?

Current cyber and ICT professionals that have responsibility for operational security and infrastructure from either the private or public sector. For example, this may include a threat or exploit analyst, SOC analyst, operational analyst, incident handler, ICT infrastructure manager and/or architect.


Are there any prerequisites?

  • General knowledge or experience with network administration and incident management.
  • Whilst not essential, participants with some experience, skills and interest in security architecture and familiarity with common ICT infrastructure incident response tools or incident response frameworks would be advantageous.

Course timing

  • Day 1 | 9am - 5pm (ACST) on Wednesday 22 September
  • Day 2 | 9am - 4pm (ACST) on Thursday 23 September

Lunch, a light morning tea, coffee, tea and water will be provided on both days for those participating in-person. The 45 minute lunch break will commence at 12:30pm (ACST) on both days.


Cost

  • In-person delivery - $2,000 plus GST.
  • Online delivery - $1,500 plus GST.

Derek Grocke - CyberOps (Adelaide)

An executive level technology advisor and instigator of business aligned change for more than 25 years, Derek Grocke is a highly regarded security specialist and requested public speaker within Australia. Presenting on a broad range of subjects including IT management, APRA risk & compliance, EU GDPR/AU NDB, security practices & operational programs, critical infrastructure security/architecture, IT automation/operations, process risk, banking system/e-commerce/SWIFT, standards compliance and regulatory compliance. Derek has been the Director and Co-Founder of Adelaide based cyber company, CyberOps since August 2016.
