About this Event
At 4336 Williams Street in Inkster, Michigan sits a nondescript white bungalow that was home to Malcolm X in the early 1950s. The house has long sat vacant and nearly faced demolition until Dr. Tareq Ramadan, Adjunct Professor of Anthropology at Wayne State University, and Inkster resident Aaron Sims, Executuve Director of the nonprofit Project We Hope, Dream and Believe, stepped in to repair and restore the historic structure. Both will be present to discuss progress made and challenges faced renovating the home since 2019. They will also reveal and discuss future plans for the home, including opening as a museum and vocational center for the local community and general public.
