Have you ever seen a beautiful strand of beads worn as a necklace or wrapped around your fellow yogi’s wrist? This sacred tool is called a Mala. A mala is a traditional strand of prayer beads and a meditation tool that is used to still the mind. Based on the stone or material that they are created with, they represent different qualities that can also be personalized by chanting a mantra. In this afternoon workshop of creation and community, Sweeder Jewelry will show you how to create your own 108-bead mala necklace with a guru bead and tassel. We’ll begin with a short intention-setting meditation, followed by hands-on guidance in stringing and knotting beads. Sip un-infused mocktails by Evermore and then, we'll end with a japa mala meditation practice to charge your mala. All materials & refreshments are included.
