About this Event
The Community Development Learning Initiative warmly invites you to join with others in celebration. We hope you will consider spending your Saturday afternoon with us:
If you are a part of a group that has been working on something in your community and don't have the capacity (time, funding, creativity, etc.) to stop and celebrate your work - let your network do that with you!
If you are someone who has cheerleading energy to spare or just wants to be in an atmosphere where community development work is celebrated - we'd love to have you join in!
If work has felt heavy or you are feeling you are the only one doing community work, but you don't quite feel you have something you specifically want to celebrate - we'd love to have you with us!
Event Details
This event will be in person only hosted by CDLI via a working group of network members.
When you register to attend you have the ability to let us know if you are coming together with others or as an individual. By letting us know these details we can plan to support groups to sit together for a portion of the event.
You will also have the opportunity to let us know any wins or celebrations you would like us to highlight during the event, including what meaningful recognition would look like.
The agenda may look like:
Welcome and Lunch (seated)
Celebration as Groups
Choice of Activities
- some seated, some including movement within the building
Networking & Connection
Celebration of Community Development in Calgary
Closing
The event will take place in the Sunalta Community Hall "red building" which has two concrete stairs to enter from the Main Hall entrance sidewalk and can be accessed via concrete ramp through the Club Room entrance from the sidewalk as we have both spaces booked. There is also a concrete ramp from the back of the building from within the gravel parking lot. The building is one level indoors.
We have included questions in the registration to better understand if having inentional inclusion of children (any age) within the activities would support you to attend in a good way. Children are an important part of communities, however, there has not been many people attending with children so we are hoping to better understand what our role can be as a network with many caregivers, early childhood and educators of all ages, etc.
