During this session we will begin putting together a panel or some panels for the Grenfell Memorial quilt 3 x 3 feet in size - The Penzance contribution - please see Grenfell Memorial quilt on Facebook to learn moreWe will also be making green hearts...The symbol for Grenfell
No experience is necessary and there will be people on hand to teach you any skills you need from cutting out pieces to the stitches needed . We are not using any glue just stitching
We are collecting some specific fabrics. Green fabric that does not fray such as wool and felt and nice bright coloured fabrics that are firm enough for the background. They must be suitable and easy to get a needle through but also firm enough for a banner.
Small scraps of bright fabrics are also requited for the letters. We have some to use but more small pieces welcome - bright colours only
If you have any green buttons or any embellishments that's great too
Pleas bring your own sharp scissors, threads , embroidery , beads etc if you have any or use ours if you don't.
You may wish to go on to make your own panel at home and we can advise about that . You can also make hearts at home and we can send them all together.
Redwing has a cafe and will be open at 1pm before the session
