About this Event
Come and join us at Richard Street Studios for a fun-filled day of creativity!
Making Art with Friends and Strangers is a workshop that brings community, artmaking, and visual storytelling together. This workshop provides a chance to connect and learn from one another through visual prompts and engaging conversations. You will be led through a variety of hands-on exercises in printing, painting, and mark-making, ultimately resulting in the production of a collaborative piece of artwork.
This workshop is open to all experience levels and aims to foster social relationships in a relaxed and informal environment. We'll chat, make art and have fun. Following the creative exercises, there will be time to socialise over refreshments.
The workshop will be led by Karen Jelenje, one of the resident tenants at Richard Street Studios. Karen is a creative practitioner dedicated to community development and social impact, with a background in architecture and urban design. Alongside this, she is developing her own visual arts practice Jelenje Studio by exploring African artisanal traditions, participatory art and communal forms of gathering found across the continent.
Under 16s should be accompanied by an adult.
