About this Event
About Jessica Cao
San Jose native Jessica Cao is a muralist and illustrator working across digital and physical media (acrylic, oil, gouache.) Her work pulsates with energy, capturing the movement and individual character of flora and fauna. Jessica uses art for environmental advocacy, reminding us that we are cohabitants, not owners, of this planet. Her artwork can be found on greeting cards, silk scarves, and furniture, and previous clients include Waymo and the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.
About Paulina Acosta
Paulina Acosta is a music teacher, vocalist, and artist born and raised in San José, California. Her maternal grandparents sang and played music for a living, and she is honored to continue to continue that legacy with her community today.
Paulina trained in classical piano for ten years at San José School of Music, and expanded her studies by adding vocal jazz and classical choir while at performing arts magnet Abraham Lincoln High School. She pursued her own art and music history research as an undergrad at UC Berkeley, abroad at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and in graduate coursework at Brown University. As Pau D'Arco, she performs throughout the Bay Area, singing covers of Latin American indie folk, traditional folk, sometimes corridos and cumbias.
