About this Event
In this class, you learn how to make a simple wearable lighting circuit by hand sewing. The project you'll make in class will be a pair of gloves that are connected with your wrist and fingertips to turn the lights on.
Materials included in the class:
- sewable LED lights
- battery holders with coin cell batteries
- conductive thread
- felt fabric of your choice
- velcro
After learning about how the materials are used in in this workshop, you should be able to make your own simple wearable soft circuits.
Who is this class for:
This class is for people who are interested in hand sewing or wearable technology. A bit of sewing experience is preferred, but it's totally okay even if you don't have any. You need to do some hand sewing, but don't worry! I'm there to help. Also, the circuit you'll be sewing is very simple and easy to understand.
Your instructor:
Hello, I am Donna, the maker of LighTuT-A pair of lighting gloves. I showcased this work in the Coney Island Maker Faire2024 and am continuing to develop this wearable circuit project for workshops and DIY kits.
This is a masks optional event.
