Participate in an educational workshop where you can learn how to make your own premium hiking stick! The Ranger will lead you to a section of trail or other area of the park where you will get to pick your very own hiking stick from a selection of Invasive Privet. He will then instruct you on how to debark it and how to create a paracord handle wrap. You will get to see other examples of hiking sticks that he made for later inspiration!
Meet up at the Visitors' Center, 1500 W. Mitchell. $15 per person. One medallion and one paracord will be provided for each participant with the opportunity to purchase more for future projects. Appropriate for ages eight and up, younger participants may need parental help with debarking (sharp) tools.
For more information, call or text 901-229-1313.
