Learn how to make small books! Christmas is a great time of year to show off your new found skills as a bookbinder. This is a great class for those who have previously attended a beginners class and complete newbies too.I will go through all the essentials about paper and cloth and the importance of grain direction and then let you loose to make your own small books, using my endpapers and cloth that I use. They can be used as letters to Santa, writing down what has been received for Christmas, or as actual presents, with ideas for days out or fun activities. I use them as tags on gifts and then have them on my tree in my studio as i cant have a non book themed Christmas tree!
These are really fun to do by yourself or with friends as a pre-Christmas activity. So, pop on the cheesy Christmas songs and let the mulled wine flow! They make amazing presents and show off your skills really well. You will leave with 2 - 3 small books - depending on how quickly decisions are made and a new sense of wonder at the flexibility of bookbinding as a craft.
