Did you know that underwater can be a very noisy place?
From crunching limpets and seaweed squeaks, huge varieties of natural and human-made sounds occur in our seas making them amazing places to discover.
In this bookable workshop, participants will learn about underwater sounds and listen to recordings from Manx waters, whilst assembling a simple hydrophone to encourage underwater exploration.
These taught sessions are suitable for 12+ years old* who can assemble a simple construction kit to make their own underwater recordings.
Tickets are £5, limited to 12 spaces in each morning and afternoon session.
*Hydrophone assembly will involve the assembly of small components and soldering with some participants requiring additional support to complete the task.
Participating adults who are attending workshop to support ticket holder will not be required to book an additional ticket, however, this workshop does not permit free entry into the House of Manannan.
Please note that there will be 1 hydrophone kit supplied to each ticket holder booked on the workshop.
Morning Session 10am to 11.30am and afternoon session 12 noon to 1.30pm
