Make your own hand stitched journal! Participants will learn basic book binding stitches & print the cover of their journals.
Guest Teacher:
cindy “cindita” macias is an interdisciplinary artist and multimedia maker in Southeast L.A. Her practice centers art, imagination and creativity not simply as forms of self-expression, but as a means for survival. She is drawn to and embodies various forms to resist, survive, and thrive. Her art is collage (verb), a process that facilitates the unpacking and healing of intergenerational trauma. For her collage demands a connection to self, others and the world around us. She sees her creative practice as the very essence of collage as abolition praxis because it offers visions of an emerging world for collective care and liberation.
