Learn how to ferment non-alcoholic ginger beer! This process uses yeast (instead of a ginger bug) and only a few other simple ingredients. No experience is necessary. Participants will sample ginger beer flights; learn how to ferment and infuse their own brews; practice making the recipe; and take home a bottle of their own brew, a measuring cup and spoon, a jar of their favorite infusion ingredient and a packet of wine yeast.
Instruction will be provided by Breanne LeJeune of Tomato Cat, an urban farm, nursery and home bakery based in Christiansburg.
This will be a mellow event with lots of time to relax, ask questions, and gain hands-on experience.
Registration is requested so we know how many people to provide supplies/flights for. Because fermentation produces a residual amount of alcohol, participants must be 21+ years old.
