This workshop will provide the participant with basic woodworking knowledge.
This workshop will provide the participant with basic woodworking knowledge. They will learn to select wood, joint, plane, cut, glue, shape and finish a cutting board. The techniques learned can easily be used in an infinite variety of other woodworking projects. The participants will start from hardwood and end with a cutting board that's ready for finishing at home. All materials, including mineral oil and instructions for finishing, will be provided to the students.
The workshop will be taught by James Klym, an experienced woodworker and luthier, who builds and repairs guitars of all kinds and teaches guitar making at Helios.
This workshop will be taught in English.
Note: as with all workshops, close toed shoes are necessary.
