Discover the art of turning words into beautiful, expressive designs in this beginner-friendly workshop! Whether you’re new to lettering or just looking for a fun, creative outlet, this class is all about exploring your style, building confidence, and having a great time along the way.
You’ll learn the basics—simple strokes, letter shapes, and ways to add flair—while experimenting with tools, colors, and layouts. For the final project, participants will design and letter a journal cover, applying what they’ve learned to create a personalized piece that is both functional and inspiring.
No experience? No problem. All you need is curiosity, a little imagination, and a willingness to play with ink and paper. You’ll leave with your own hand-lettered creations, fresh skills, and the confidence to keep practicing at home. Come for the techniques, stay for the creativity, and leave with something beautiful you made yourself!
About the Instructor:
I’m Chandra Osann, the owner and creator behind Big Girl Press. I’m a lover of words, so it only makes sense that lettering is my style of choice.
It all started with me trying to copy my Dad’s signature; I would practice it until you couldn’t tell the difference between my handwriting and his. That practice became my passion and now—when I listen to music, read a passage, or hear a speech—I’m also thinking of how I can turn the words into art, and how that art can inspire, uplift, and empower not just me, but others, as well.
