📣 Symposium: Make Voices Be Heard 🗓 November 22-23, 2024
🏛 Academy of Art, Architecture and Design, Prague
For years, coloniality and racism have been central to critical discourse in contemporary art. While artists and theorists from the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Arab world often lead international exhibitions and debates, the perspectives from Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Central Asia, have been marginalized.
❓ Why are these voices often excluded?
❓ Why is "universal" knowledge on coloniality and racism produced without their participation?
It’s time to address these gaps and raise the voices from these regions.
The "Make Voices Be Heard" exhibition and symposium, organized by Hope Recycling Station, aims to highlight these important, yet often overlooked, perspectives. Through art, we question and reimagine coloniality and racism in these regions.
