Join us to celebrate the creation of our afterschool program’s zines! We will have 3 zines available to take home and a few finger foods. Open to the public!Make//Shift was a 12-week long afterschool STEAM course exploring the intersection of science, art, and DIY publishing. In collaboration with the 309 Punk Project, this hands-on course invited students to investigate local environmental topics through place-based science instruction and creative self-expression. Students built skills in research, design, and multimedia storytelling while producing their own zines focused on a local science effort, environmental issue, or citizen science project. Field trips complemented classroom learning by providing real-world context and inspiration.
Zine topics include over fishing, pollution in warrington and impact of superfund sites on local neighborhoods.
