You'd be surprised at how good helping make 500 sandwiches for those in need can feel.

Give back. Meet great people. Make a difference—one sandwich at a time.

Join OutPro and Gary Martin of COMPASS Real Estate for a hands-on, feel-good evening making PB&J sandwiches to support NYC shelters serving the homeless, including LGBTQ+ youth at Sylvia Rivera’s Place.

This upbeat, two-hour event is organized in partnership with (OSAAT). We will deliver your creations directly to those in need—immediately after the event.

What to Expect:

  • Make PB&J sandwiches with fellow community-conscious people
  • Decorate sandwich bag stickers with kind, encouraging messages (optional)
  • All materials provided—bring a hat or head covering (feel free to be festive!) to avoid a hairnet
  • Your donation covers the cost of sandwich supplies
  • Stick around to mingle and enjoy the community vibe.

You'll leave smiling, meeting other positive, community-conscious people while helping those in need.

About .

One Sandwich at a Time began with a simple, powerful act of kindness. Rushing through Grand Central Station, co-founder Erin Dinan grabbed a sandwich, having not eaten all day. On her way to the platform, a homeless man asked for food—and without hesitation, she handed him half. His gratitude stayed with her long after the train ride, inspiring her to start making and distributing sandwiches to others in need.

After sharing the idea with her friend and co-founder, George Kontogiannis, One Sandwich at a Time was born. What started as one small gesture has grown into a grassroots nonprofit that has provided over 500,000 sandwiches to hungry New Yorkers and counting.
