Join us for a fun-filled day of creative music workshops with expert Mr. Shay!
Discover beatboxing, sound creation, and recording, and take your creativity to the next level.
This exciting workshop is open to children aged 10–12, giving them the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized Explore Arts Award.

This event is exclusively for residents of the Mowmacre area, aimed at children aged 10–12.

Important Information
Spaces are limited, so booking is essential!
Parents/Carers are required to attend the sharing session at 2:00 PM. The day will conclude at 2:30 PM.
After booking, our staff member will contact you with a form that you will need to complete and return. Without completing and returning this form, we will not be able to confirm your child's place. This form will include information required for the Explore Arts Award and dietary requirements.

What time should we arrive for the event?
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the event starts at 10:00 AM, so we can get everyone settled and ready to begin.
Can I stay and watch my child during the workshop?
Parents are welcome to drop off their children and return at the end of the session. However, you’re welcome to stay in the community centre if needed.
What kind of lunch will be provided? Are dietary requirements accommodated?
Lunch is free and includes a couple of simple supermarket meal deal options, such as a sandwich, crisps, and a drink (vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available). You are welcome to bring your own packed lunch if you prefer. After booking, we will send you a form to complete, where you can indicate any dietary requirements.
What skills will my child learn during the workshop?
Your child will learn beatboxing, sound creation, and basic recording techniques. They’ll also explore creativity in music and teamwork.
Is prior experience in music or beatboxing required?
Not at all! The workshop is designed for beginners and will guide children step by step.
What is the Explore Arts Award, and how will my child earn it?
The Explore Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification. Children will complete activities during the workshop to meet the requirements, with support from facilitators. More about Arts Award.
Are there any materials or equipment my child needs to bring?
No, all materials and equipment will be provided. Just bring enthusiasm and creativity!
Will there be any breaks during the session?
Yes, we will have short breaks, including a lunch break, to keep the children refreshed and engaged.
What measures are in place to ensure children’s safety during the event?
The event is run by trained professionals in a safe, supervised environment. All staff are DBS-checked, and there will be a first aider on-site.
Who will be supervising the children throughout the day?
The workshop will be led by Mr Shay and a team of experienced facilitators who are accustomed to working with children.
What is the process for booking a spot?
You can book by calling 07425867969, emailing [email protected], or reserving a ticket online via Eventbrite. After booking, we will send you a form to complete, where you can indicate any dietary requirements and we will gather information we need for Arts Award.
What happens if we need to cancel our booking?
Please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the space to another child. Contact us by phone or email to cancel.
Can siblings attend if only one meets the age requirement?
Unfortunately, only children aged 10–12 can participate in the workshop activities. Siblings outside this age range are not eligible.
