Houston-based cellist Bree Ahern is establishing herself as a versatile 21st century musician committed to contemporary music performance, community engagement, and collaboration across the arts. Now in her second year as a DACAMERA Young Artist, she also performs as a core member of KINETIC, an artist-led ensemble committed to performing diverse, underrepresented, and newly composed classical music. In addition, she has performed with Musiqa Houston, Aperio: Music of the Americas, Loop38, Hoppa Project, and alongside pianist Brian Connelly in his Music in Context series at Rice University. As both a cellist and visual artist, she is passionate about pursuing interdisciplinary work and curating unique concert experiences that bridge art forms. Bree is an alumna of Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where she studied with Norman Fischer.
