WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for a side hustle, or a full-time income, the skills required are the same. This course will provide the knowledge you need to get your idea off the ground, or get an existing venture back on track.

The course is fun, but there is a lot to learn, so please come prepared for hard work.

At the end of the course, attendees will be given a template business plan which they will be expected to complete during the next 30 days.

COURSE LOCATION
The course is held at the Whiteway Centre, Rottingdean, Brighton. The Centre runs educational courses all year round, so is suitably equipped.
Rottingdean is a quintessential English village with a picturesque high street, village green and pond. It was once home to Rudyard Kipling and his house and gardens are moments from the course location. Rottingdean has its’ own beach, and a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs.
Just 50 minutes form London on the train, Brighton is a vibrant seaside resort with wonderful independent shops and hundreds of bars and restaurants. It has a unique vibe and somehow manages to be both cosmopolitan and bohemian at the same time. It has something for everyone and attracts around 9 million visitors a year.
BEFORE THE COURSE
Attendees will be asked to provide information about their business idea, so course delivery can be tailored as much as possible.
Each attendee will be expected to deliver a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation on their prospective or existing business venture first thing on Saturday morning. Your tutor who will provide advance support with this if required.
COURSE FORMAT
The course is delivered by:
- An expert in social media marketing
- A qualified accountant Lulu
There will be a mixture of classroom type sessions, group workshops and individual work. Wherever possible we will use attendee case studies.
There are 18 hours tuition in total:
- 15 hours face-to-face group contact time
- 3 hours post course 1-1 remote support
Face-to-face sessions are:
- Saturday 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.30pm
- Sunday 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.30pm
On both days complimentary tea, coffee and bottled water are provided.
A homemade 3 course lunch and refreshments are also included both days.
Saturday
- Roasted tomato and basil soup with locally baked herbed focaccia
- Vegetable lasagne, tomato red onion, dill and feta salad with garlic bread
- Tiramisu
Sunday
- Butternut squash soup with locally baked sourdough
- Vegetarian halloumi filo quiche, spinach and carrot salad, smoked coleslaw and herbed new potatoes
- Warm chocolate brownie and cream
POST COURSE SUPPORT
Learning what you need to do in order to launch a successful craft business, is only the beginning. Attendees need to be able to apply their new skills, so the course includes ongoing mentoring, advice and support which will be scheduled during the following 30 days.

GETTING HERE
By car
The Whiteway Centre has its' own car park and a space will be reserved for you.
By public transport
By train to Brighton station. Bus numbers 12 and 12a leave directly outside. The journey takes around 15 minutes and the venue is 5 minutes walk from the course location.
By coach to Brighton coach station Pool Valley. Catch bus numbers 12 or 12a from the first bus stop on the north side of Marine Parade opposite Sea Life Centre.
