Join us at Riverbend Park aka Vernon L Richards Nature Preserve, for a weekend of community, making, interactive creativity, playing, doing and endless exploration at Make/Do Smithville! Dive into reuse projects, picnic games, creative builds, sewing, screen printing, food, music, poetry and hands-on activities. Whether you're a skilled maker or a curious party, there's something for everyone to try, to do, to watch, to learn. Bring your curiousity and connect with fellow makers and creators in a beautiful natural setting right here in Smithville, TX. Mark your calendars, save the date and come create in community!

What is it?
Make/Do Festival is a two-day celebration of art, expression, creativity, camping and community. Think of it as an old-fashioned community picnic meets backyard carnival meets maker faire meets your school talent show meets an idea you once had in the back of your head. You’ll find all kinds of interactive projects, stage shows and displays for ALL AGES!
Create your own scrap wood figures, add to our papier mache puppet, try your hand at screen printing, take a ride on our DIY Zany Train, make a springtime flower crown, try your hand at juggling, promenade in our pop-up plaza, play on our analog sound wall, join in our pick-up baseball game on Sunday, sit a spell at our community button table, pair up for the three legged race, add to our growing mobile, craft and draw and paint in our cardboard zone, dine at our bread and butter bar, apple tasting booth or make your own panini! Or just sit a spell under the poe-tree listening to poets share their poems and maybe even adding your own! AND MORE BEING ADDED DAILY.
Why?
Because we live in an area FULL of creative people AND because we happen to have a most incredible Festival Grounds right in the town of Smithville and springtime seems like a good time for a community gather and because Make/Do Festival seems like a good chance to gather, explore, create, share, learn, listen, MAKE AND DO!!!
What is the cost?
The price of admission is PAY WHAT YOU WANT!!
